From start to finish your forties can be fabulous, but you've got to do the work to achieve what it is you want out of your decade of fabulousness. When I entered into my forties, it seemed harmless enough. I was fit, still had my energy levels, and kick ass attitude. For the most part I was unbothered and I assumed I'd remain unbothered for a while longer. Then on one random day, the music stopped, light dimmed and to put it mildly, all shit hit the fan! My body had taken on a life of its own. It began to misbehave in ways that were unfamiliar to me. One of the ways in which my body changed is in its response to foods. I simply could not eat the same foods I had once so greatly enjoyed. I no longer had the luxury of dietary recklessness. The realization that I had to make some serious lifestyle and dietary changes in order to feel and look my best was devastating at first. I wanted to refute the idea that I just couldn't eat certain foods anymore but my body had spoken and its message was clear, it was time for change. That change included incorporating a healthy diet, routine exercise, and establishing work life balance. I had to learn new ways to take better care of myself, while embarking on this new chapter of life.

Diet & Exercise - Eat healthy foods and exercise is no longer an option, it's a MUST.
Drink Plenty Water
Get at least 7 hours of sleep
Self Care / Self Love - take time to love and celebrate yourself
